Joe Scarborough accused President Donald Trump of knowingly lying to people at his rallies and said his supporters know they’re being lied to.
“He’s lying to that crowd and they’re cheering for him,” Scarborough said on “Morning Joe” Friday. “It just shows he thinks if he lies enough he can numb everybody.” (RELATED: Joe Scarborough Hits Back After Alan Dershowitz Calls Him Out)
Scarborough also slipped into a southern accent and referenced Neil Armstrong, before continuing to bash the president.
“He doesn’t care that he’s lying and he knows he’s lying,” Scarborough continued. “People in the audience, they’re cheering for his lies. And so many times know he is lying.”
Scarborough compared Trump’s speeches to a rock concert and marveled at how his supporters continue to stand behind him.
“What is this? Is it like a rock concert or is it like an act where he’s just delivering lines and — they just like the lines that are being delivered even though they know he is lying to them?” Scarborough concluded.
