A former law clerk for President Trump’s most recent Supreme Court pick said that Judge Brett Kavanaugh could be the most qualified nominee “in generations” during a recent CNN interview.

Jennifer Mascott, who also clerked for Justice Clarence Thomas, touted Kavanaugh as “an independent, fair-minded judge.”

“He’s got one of the sharpest legal minds in the country,” Mascott told CNN’s Alisyn Camerota on Tuesday.

Echoing a Monday night article from USA Today, Mascott stated that Kavanaugh “may be the most qualified Supreme Court nominee in generations.” (RELATED: NBC’s Chuck Todd: Kavanaugh Is ‘Very Confirmable’)
