A brewing company offered an apology after wanting to name its beer “White Guilt.”

Lakeville Brew Crew, a yet to be opened Indiana-based brewery, apologized after planning on naming its beers controversial names such as “White Guilt,” “Flint Michigan Tap Water” and “Black Beer Matters,” The Associated Press reported Thursday. The brewery’s owners Jon Duncan and Rodney Chlebek said that after receiving an overwhelmingly negative reaction to the names, they “wiped clean” the list, according to the South Bend Tribune. “During this time, we have had numerous conversations about the best way to move forward with the partnership. The first thing that we had to do was accept that we made mistakes,” Duncan and Chlebek wrote Wednesday on Facebook. “We neglected to put ourselves in the shoes of other people. As a result of ongoing conversations, the list of beer names has been wiped clean.” (RELATED: It’s Been Two Years And Hillary Clinton’s Flint Water Program Is Still Missing In Action)

The brewery’s owners claimed that they originally chose such polarizing names to bring attention to the Flint water crisis in Michigan. “None of this is done out of hate, none of this is done out of making fun of it,” Duncan said, according to the South Bend Tribune Sunday.
