Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Saturday slammed President Trump for his actions over the past week in regards to the summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“The great mystery is why this president has not spoken up for our country, and we saw this most clearly in this recent meeting with Putin,” Clinton stated during her talk at OZY Fest in New York on Saturday.
She continued, saying that “we still do not know” what happened during their meeting.
“So this idea that somehow we are not sure where our own president stands is deeply disturbing,” Clinton added, according to The Hill. “And the best way to deal with that is to vote in November.”
President Trump has faced widespread, bipartisan criticism over his press conference with the Russian leader. He ended up walking back some of the comments that caused the most backlash in a press conference a day later.
