White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders took a shot at the media for their non-stop coverage of the president’s meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin during the press briefing on Monday afternoon.
“My question about Russia is that, you know, President Trump continues to air his grievances about the coverage of his meeting with Vladimir Putin — ” a reporter started before Sanders interrupted.
“Because you guys continue to obsessively cover it,” Huckabee Sanders responded.
“Well, we can’t, really, cause it’s been seven days and we’ve not received a readout, we have not received any specific details about agreements that were reached whether formally or verbally so when can we expect that,” the reporter shot back.
The president met with Putin exactly a week ago in Helsinki, Finland. The two world leaders met behind closed doors and the details of the meeting have not been released publicly yet.
Trump received criticism for his comments during the post-meeting press conference, but he has since walked them back.
