Former White House press secretary Sean Spicer responded to a blistering review of his new book, “The Briefing,” by ABCNews White House correspondent Jonathan Karl in an exclusive interview airing Friday on The Daily Daily Caller Podcast.

Karl wrote of Spicer’s new book recounting his time at the podium that “Mr. Spicer’s book is much like his tenure as press secretary: short, littered with inaccuracies and offering up one consistent theme: Mr. Trump can do no wrong,” in a review for The Wall Street Journal.

Spicer appeared taken aback when he read the quote, immediately saying, “It makes me wonder whether he read the book.”

The former White House press secretary then parried. He explained, “I would include him the group of elite media that wants to make decisions of what people see and don’t see. If you look at someone like that, they don’t like seeing democratizing … having The Daily Caller and some of these other conservative publications … get in the way of their narratives and their questions, so it’s not surprising to me.”

Spicer then declared that he if could go back he would still take the podium as press secretary but ruled out a future return to the White House.

The remainder of the interview will air Friday on The Daily Caller.
