Former Gov. Christine Todd Whitman (R-NJ) kept up her attacks on President Donald Trump Tuesday, insisting it was time for her “fellow Republicans” to urge the president to remove himself from office.

As the Washington Examiner notes, Whitman, who admits she supported Hillary Clinton for president in 2016, told CNN that Trump’s news conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin convinced her that Trump must go.

“Talking to [Putin] is fine. Nothing against that,” Whitman told the broadcaster. “But to fawn over him, the way the president did — set aside our allies to throw everything into uncertainty for the people who are on our side.”

The mainstream media widely castigated Trump for his Helsinki summit with Putin and the subsequent news conference at which I Trump questioned Russia’s involvement in 2016 election meddling. Some news outlets even suggested it was “treasonous” to question the U.S. intelligence community.
