Ontario Premier Doug Ford is promising the imminent appearance of “buck-a-beer” in Ontario.

As Global News reports, if the new Conservative government delivers the $1 (CND) brew, it will be another campaign promise kept for an administration that has let loose with a plethora of legislation since taking office less than two months ago.

In a Friday night tweet, Ford broadly hinted that the inexpensive beer will be available soon.

“We have two hundred and sixty of the greatest brewers anywhere in the world. My friends, we are going to do our part because a buck-a-beer is coming to a shelf near you,” Ford said, according a video that accompanied the tweet.

Global is reporting that sources within the Ford government will make the official announcement next week when the premier is out visiting rural Ontario. The sources would not say exactly when or where, only that the campaign promise will be fulfilled. (RELATED: Doug Ford Unveils Conservative Revolution In Ontario Throne Speech)
