White House press secretary Sarah Sanders slammed Senate Democrats for reportedly trying to delay the confirmation hearings of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and several Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee said Wednesday that they believe the scheduled confirmation hearings should be delayed in light of former Trump attorney Michael Cohen pleading guilty to campaign finance violations. During a White House press briefing on Wednesday, Sanders denounced the idea of delaying Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearing and called Democrats “desperate” and “pathetic” for trying to do so.
“This is a desperate and pathetic attempt by Democrats to obstruct a very highly qualified nominee,” Sanders said in response to a question by Fox Radio Network’s Jon Decker. “The hearing date has been set for September 4 and Judge Kavanaugh will be there.”
