President Donald Trump continued to mock CNN for its botched Michael Cohen story in a Thursday tweet.
CNN is working frantically to find their “source.” Look hard because it doesn’t exist. Whatever was left of CNN’s credibility is now gone!

CNN’s saga began in late July when it published a story alleging that Michael Cohen was prepared to tell investigators that Trump had foreknowledge of a 2016 Trump Tower meeting with the Russians. Lanny Davis, Cohen’s lawyer, then admitted on the record that he was a source for the story and publicly recanted his remarks.
Trump mocked them throughout Thursday morning:
The hatred and extreme bias of me by @CNN has clouded their thinking and made them unable to function. But actually, as I have always said, this has been going on for a long time. Little Jeff Z has done a terrible job, his ratings suck, & AT&T should fire him to save credibility!

“Lanny Davis admits being anonymous source in CNN Report.” @BretBaier Oh well, so much for CNN saying it wasn’t Lanny. No wonder their ratings are so low, it’s FAKE NEWS!

CNN addressed the issue Tuesday evening in a follow-up story after intense pressure and media scrutiny, saying, “CNN did not report whether Trump knew about the meeting before it happened — only that Cohen was making that claim while hoping for a deal from prosecutors,” and adding that they stand by their original reporting.
