Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio criticized the way President Donald Trump handled former Arizona Republican Sen. John McCain’s death, saying it was not “a good moment.”

“I didn’t like it. I thought if there is any American who deserves the honor of having the flag flown at half-staff, it would have been John McCain,” Rubio said in an interview with CBS Miami, adding, “I’m glad they fixed it and I think generally there has got to be a line at which we say, nothing else matters at this point. This week should be about honoring John McCain’s 60 years of service to our country, irrespective of whether you agree the way he did it every time.”

The comments come as McCain requested Trump not attend his funeral, as the two disagreed over certain issues. However, Trump did say, “We very much appreciate everything that Senator McCain has done for our country,” after McCain died. (RELATED: John McCain Lies In State At The US Capitol — Here’s What That Honor Means)

McCain will be buried at the U.S. Naval Academy Cemetery in Annapolis, Maryland, on Sunday.
