Former President Barack Obama credited his administration with spawning America’s recent economic growth and Fox Business host Stuart Varney said he was mistaken.

“Quotes from former President Obama … here we go. ‘So we pulled the economy out of crisis.’ Next one, ‘We got Iran to halt its nuclear program.’ And another, ‘They rejected science and rejected facts on climate change,'” Varney said Monday on “Varney & Company.” (RELATED: President Trump Has Spawned America’s Best Economic Performance In Years, Says Stuart Varney)

“[Obama is] claiming credit for the economy. That’s a stretch,” he said. “Today’s stellar 4 percent growth is clearly the result of tax cuts and deregulation. That’s [President Donald] Trump. It’s not Obama.”

Varney also claimed the Trump administration is responsible for the low unemployment rate among blacks and Hispanics and said Trump has been rolling back Obama era policies throughout his entire presidency.

“A generational low for unemployment with historic lows for African-Americans and Hispanics. That is it Trump’s record, It’s not Obama’s,” Varney said.

“Then there’s climate change and the Pairs climate accord,” he added. “Obama put us into it. Trump took us out … same story with Iran. Obama got us into the nuke deal. Trump has taken us out. Are we not in a stronger position now with Trump’s new sanctions derailing the Iranian economy big time?”
