Police are investigating an alleged threat that was made Tuesday in preparation of a MAGA meet-up event at the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C.

An anonymous Twitter user allegedly replied to a tweet by Cassandra Fairbanks of Gateway Pundit after she asked her Twitter followers who would be attending the event. The tweet, however, has since been deleted.

“I am coming with a gun and i expect to get numerous bloodstained MAGA hats as trophies,” the user tweeted with a picture of a pistol, according to a screenshot Fairbanks provided.

Since that time, a Twitter user observed that the individual changed his or her handle and included other screenshots from the account.

Fairbanks reported the incident to the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD). The MPD confirmed to The Daily Caller News Foundation that the threat is being taken seriously and is currently being investigated.
