Melania Trump joined with President Donald Trump Tuesday and sent a message of “unity” on the 17th anniversary of the September 11 terror attacks.

“A somber tribute at Flight 93 National Memorial this morning. We honor the many lost at the hands of evil on 9/11,” the first lady captioned her post on Instagram, along with a photograph of her and the president standing together at the Flight 93 National Memorial in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. (RELATED: Trump Remembers Flight 93 Passengers Who Fought Back)

“It’s a time to remember the strength of this nation and the power that comes from unity, leadership & courage,” she added. “God Bless this great nation. #NeverForget.”

She and President Trump started out the day gathered with others at the White House for a moment of silence, remembering those who were killed when hijackers flew planes into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center buildings.

Later, FLOTUS and Trump flew to Pennsylvania where Trump honored those on board that flight from Newark to San Francisco who decided to fight back against the terrorists who had hijacked their plane.

“Flight 93 was hijacked by evil men bent on terror and conquest,” the president explained. “Passengers and crew members began using their phones to call home.”

“In the last 20 minutes, many placed their final calls home, whispering those eternal words, I love you,” he added. “Some said the Lord’s prayer, and then they bravely charged the cockpit. They attacked the enemy, they fought until the very end, and they stopped the forces of terror and defeated this wicked, horrible, evil plan.”
