MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell declared on Monday night that President Donald Trump was “the only President in history to publicly confess to sexual assault,” and claimed Republican Senators that vote to confirm Kavanaugh “are deciding the White House and Supreme Court should be a safe haven for men accused of sexual assault.”

O’Donnell opened his show using the recent allegations of sexual assault swirling around Brett Kavanaugh to attack Donald Trump saying, “We now have the only President in history, who has publicly confessed to sexual assault, and described his preferred methods of sexual assault.”

The MSNBC host then played the famous Billy Bush “Access Hollywood” tape as proof that Trump admitted to sexual assault. O’Donnell added, “When it comes time to vote Republican Senators will have to decide if they are going to give the self-confessed, sexual-assaulting president what he wants: The confirmation of a now-accused sexual assaulter as a Supreme Court Justice, because that nominee has indicated that he no longer believes the President of the United States can be subpoenaed. That’s why Brett Kavanaugh is so important to Donald Trump. Donald Trump’s belief that Brett Kavanaugh might save him from a subpoena in the Mueller investigation. That’s what this confirmation has always been about.”

O’Donnell also called out by name Republican Senators Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski asking, “How will they decide, that there still should be some safe employment havens left for men accused of sexual assault and that those two safe havens should be the White House and The United States Supreme Court?”
