Houston Texans head coach Bill O’Brien slammed the Texas school superintendent who posted racist sentiments to his public Facebook earlier this week.
Lynn Redden, the superintendent of Onalaska Independent School District, wrote what he thought was a private message to Facebook after the Texans lost 20–17 to the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. (RELATED: TEXAS SCHOOL SUPERINTENDENT UNDER FIRE FOR RACIST TEXANS FOOTBALL COMMENTS)
“That may have been the most inept quarterback decision I’ve seen in the NFL,” he wrote of Texans quarterback DeShaun Watson in the public post. “When you need precision decision making you can’t count on a black quarterback.”
Redden later told the Houston Chronicle that he “regrets” his words but neglected to revoke the sentiment, saying, “Over the history of the NFL, they have had limited success.”
And today, Texans head coach Bill O’Brien condemned his words.
“In this day and age it’s just amazing that BS exists, but we’re moving forward,” he told reported at a presser. “Our fans love Deshaun and we’re really concentrating on the Giants.”

Bill O’Brien doesn’t exactly have a clean record himself. Last October, O’Brien made an off the record comment about players kneeling during the national anthem.
“We can’t have the inmates running the prison,” he told a group of NFL owners behind closed doors.
O’Brien’s comments sparked outrage, however despite significant outrage O’Brien stayed on as head coach.
