An orthopedic surgeon and his girlfriend are accused of multiple sex crimes against women and a district attorney suggests there may be thousands of victims.
The suspects are Dr. Grant William Robicheaux (38), who starred on the Bravo reality show, “Online Dating Rituals of the American Male,” and Cerissa Laura Riley (31).
Their alleged sex crimes date back to at least 2016 and some may have involved a gun. Many of the alleged crimes include having sex with a victim who is extremely intoxicated or under the influence.
Video evidence has been found on the male suspect’s phone. The videos supposedly include women who “appear highly intoxicated beyond the ability to consent or resist and they’re barely responsive to the defendants’ sexual advances” as per a report conducted by Deadline.
What began as criminal allegations against two women with the possibility of that number increasing exponentially as more victims are discovered in the videos taken from his phone.
During a news conference, it was Orange County District Attorney Tony Rackauckas who specified the charges against the couple and noted that a video exists of the couple engaging in sex acts with a woman who talked to the police about what happened.
Rackauckas suggested that there are hundreds of videos that are potentially incriminating. When someone asked whether there are “more than a thousand,” he stated, “I think so.”
Law enforcement utilized a search warrant to gain access to Robicheaux’s apartment and searched it in January. They found large amounts of illegal drugs, two illegal and unregistered assault rifles, four other various firearms, and numerous large-capacity magazines.
It’s believed that the couple lured women into sexual encounters by meeting them at nightclubs, then drugging them or providing copious amounts of alcohol. They would possibly take them to Robicheaux’s home and allegedly sexually assault them.
The couple faces multiple felony charges which include rape by use of drugs, four counts of possession of a controlled substance for sale, and oral copulation by anesthesia. He faces two additional charges of possessing an ‘assault weapon.’
One female victim was allegedly drinking with the couple in a bar located in Newport Beach, in October. She was at their apartment and states that they began to sexually assault her with “intent to commit rape” as per an article on People. The report states that she woke up, screamed for help, and that prompted a neighbor to call the police.
