Today, September 25, is Catherine Zeta-Jones’ birthday.
The Welsh-Born actress turns 49 years old today but remains a timeless beauty and entertainment icon to this day.
Born in Swansea, Wales, United Kingdom, Jones got her start in a variety of small-scale British films and shows. But she quickly grew frustrated with the industry and claimed she was being type-casted as an unoriginal pretty British girl, Zeta-Jones moved to Los Angeles to widen her scope of opportunities.
Once there, she acted in several high profile films, including “The Mask of Zorro,” “Chicago,” “Ocean’s Twelve,” and “Entrapment.” She went on to marry actor Michael Douglas in 2000.
But Zeta-Jones never stopped thinking about being too pretty.
“One thing I’m not is humble any more,” she told the UK Mirror. “I’m sick of being humble. I really am. ‘So sorry I’m rich, so sorry I’m married to a movie star, so sorry I’m not so bad looking.’ No sorrys. Enough.”
