President Donald Trump accused the Democrats of trying to destroy Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s life via the allegations of sexual misconduct in a tweet late Monday night.

“The Democrats are working hard to destroy a wonderful man, and a man who has the potential to be one of our greatest Supreme Court Justices ever, with an array of False Accusations the likes of which have never been seen before!” Trump tweeted.

Trump’s tweet comes a day after a second woman publicly accused Kavanaugh of sexual assault. The new allegation surfaced on Sunday detailing an alleged account from his freshman year at Yale University.

Trump gave his first comments following the second allegation, saying, “There’s a chance that this could be one of the single most unfair, unjust things to happen to a candidate for anything,” earlier on Monday. (RELATED: Trump Breaks Silence On New Kavanaugh Accuser)

“He’s a fine man, with an unblemished past and these are highly unsubstantiated statements from people represented by lawyers,” he also stated. “You should look into the lawyers doing the representation.”
