Fox News’ Chris Wallace said on Thursday that Dr. Christine Blasey Ford’s Senate testimony has been a “disaster” for Republicans.
Blasey Ford testified to the Senate Judiciary Committee that Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her at a party while in high school. Ford said Kavanaugh groped her over her clothing in a bedroom and covered her mouth with his hand so that she could not cry for help.
Wallace described Ford’s testimony as “emotional” and “extremely credible.”
“This was extremely emotional, extremely raw, and extremely credible,” Wallace said. “Nobody could listen to her deliver those words and talk about the assault and the impact it had had on her life and not have your heart go out to her.”
“This is a disaster for the Republicans,” Wallace asserted, adding that Arizona prosecutor Rachel Mitchell is “treating this like a deposition, like a court hearing.”
Wallace partially blamed the structure of the hearing, noting that there would be just about 55 minutes of total questioning. (RELATED: Here’s How The American People Feel About Kavanaugh And Ford: Poll)
“We are now 15 minutes in … she is basically almost a third done,” Wallace said. “[Mitchell] hasn’t gotten anything from this woman.”
