Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s accuser Christine Blasey Ford said she could be more “helpful” if the FBI investigated her allegation of sexual assault against the judge at Thursday’s hearing.

“You specifically asked for an FBI investigation, did you not?” Democratic Rhode Island Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse asked Ford during the hearing.

“Yes,” she responded.

And are you aware that when the FBI begins investigating, they might find corroborative evidence, and they might find exculpatory evidence?” Whitehouse said.

WATCH:

I don’t know what exculpatory evidence is — ” Ford said.

Not helpful to your recollection and version of events, helpful to the accused,” Whitehouse answered.

“Understood, yes,” Ford said.

“So it could go either way,” Whitehouse said.

“Yes,” she responded.

“You are still not just willing, but insistent that the FBI should investigate your recollection and your claim?” Whitehouse continued.

Yes, I feel like I could be more helpful if that was the case in providing some of the details that, maybe, people are wanting to know about,” she said.

Whitehouse expressed his desire for a “sincere or thorough investigation” of Ford’s claim of sexual assault against Kavanaugh that allegedly occurred during their high school years. She has alleged that the judge pinned her down and attempted to remove her clothing when they were both minors. (RELATED: Mazie Hirono Is Already Fundraising Off Of The Kavanaugh-Ford Hearing)

Kavanaugh will testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee after testimony from Ford on Thursday and has continued to deny any allegations of sexual assault.
