Judge Brett Kavanaugh condemned Democratic lawmakers for their handling of his confirmation process and alleging that they have permanently destroyed his reputation in a fiery opening statement during his Thursday Senate hearing. (RELATED: KAVANAUGH DEFIANTLY ENTERS SENATE HOLDING WIFE’S HAND)

“My family and my name have been totally and permanently destroyed by vicious and false additional accusations,” Kavanaugh declared, adding, “The ten-day delay has been harmful to me and my family, to the Supreme Court and to the country. When this allegation first arose, I welcomed any kind of investigation. Senate, FBI or otherwise.”

Kavanaugh continued to vehemently deny Dr. Christine Blasey Ford’s decades-old sexual assault accusation against him. “I know that any kind of investigation, Senate, FBI, Montgomery County police, whatever will clear me. Listen to the people I know.”

Kavanaugh’s testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee comes after Ford’s. Ford alleges that Kavanaugh assaulted her when they were both teenagers but she cannot remember key details. He will also likely be asked about two other women accusing him of sexual misconduct.
