Hawaii Democratic Senator Mazie Hirono dodged a question Sunday about whether or not the Democrats leaked the letter Dr. Christine Blasey Ford wrote alleging Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her at a party in high school.

“Are you confident that Democrats didn’t leak that letter, and how do you respond to Senator Graham’s charge that it was inappropriate for the Democrats to refer Dr. Blasey Ford to a lawyer?” ABC host George Stephanopoulos asked Hirono Sunday morning.
“See, all of these things don’t focus on what we should be focusing [on], which is the credibility of Judge Kavanaugh. That’s what’s before us right now,” Hirono responded. “And all kinds of other studies or investigations that can occur. But right now, what we need to focus on our ability as Senators to do our advice and consent job to determine whether Judge Kavanaugh is credible, was candid with us.”
Multiple Republicans have questioned how Dr. Ford’s letter, which was only sent to Rep. Anna Eshoo and Sen. Dianne Feinstein, was leaked to The Intercept.
During the hearing in which Ford and Kavanaugh testified in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Sen. John Cornyn directed a series of questions about the leak to Feinstein. (RELATED: Sen. Cornyn Goes After Sen. Feinstein Over Ford’s Allegations Being Leaked To The Media)
