CNN dedicated a segment to explaining why it’s impossible for Christine Blasey Ford to have mistaken Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh for a different alleged attacker.

The network turned to Cornell College clinical psychiatry professor Dr. Richard Friedman, who claimed there’s no way Ford cold possibly forget her assailant.

“So long as that memory is formed under intense emotion, they won’t forget it,” he said on “New Day” Monday. (RELATED: Verdict On Kavanaugh Ford Battle: One Is A ‘Sociopathic Liar’ Or Badly Mistaken)

“We have different systems in the brain for different types of memory. If you have an experience which is emotionally upsetting like an assault or a sexual attack, you’re not going to forget it because what happens is, you get a fight or flight response. You get a surge in this stress hormone, norepinephrine and cortisol, and under that influence the brain retains the memory with a vividness and a persistence which is unlike other memories.”

“What you had for dinner and what happened in the morning and what you did in class that morning … You’re not going to remember those things, but you will not forget your attacker.”

Co-host Alisyn Camerota asked if Friedman was surprised by Ford’s 100 percent certainty and he said she came across as “legitimate and credible,” and claimed she “never forgot” what happened.

“I thought it was completely legitimate and credible, because she never forgot it,” he replied.

“This was an event that happened to her that she never recalled later. She never forgot it to start with. And also Brett Kavanaugh was a social contemporary of hers and she had plenty of interaction with him outside of that event.”
