Today, October 3, is Ashlee Simpson’s birthday.
The former child actor, singer, and reality TV star turns 34 years old today and has packed in a massive career under the spotlight.
Born in Waco, TX, Simpson is the younger sister of Jessica Simpson and made a name for herself as a singer and the star of a show with her namesake, “The Ashlee Simpson Show.”
In 2004, she released the hit single “Pieces of Me,” which skyrocketed to number five on the Billboard Hot 100 list. Her accompanying album, “Autobiography,” then became the highest selling debut album by a female artist in 2004, selling close to 2.5. million copies by January 2005.
And after a break from the spotlight, Simpson is back. She married Diana Ross’s son Evan, and is slotted to star in a new reality show with her husband, called “Ashlee+Evan” on E! later this year.
