A recently released surveillance video of a gas station attack last month didn’t just show two teenagers beating up three people and an 11-year-old girl — it also caught a bystander looking at the altercation, taking a sip of the drink he was holding in his hand, then calmly walking back to his car.

The gas station attack, which took place at a Circle K in Silver Springs, Florida on September 22, was caught almost in its entirety on surveillance video released by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

In the video, Tersa Elghali can be seen standing beside a red truck. She is confronted and eventually assaulted by Julia Napiontek, 18, WKMG reported. After Elghali’s 11-year-old daughter got out of the truck, police say she was also attacked by Napiontek, thrown to the ground, and punched several times.

When Elghali’s boyfriend, Jason Ellis, exited the gas station, Napiontek attacked him as well.

“[The] next thing I know, I’m turned around and I’m walking back toward the truck and I’m getting attacked,” Ellis said.

Police say Ellis was also attacked by 18-year-old Brandon Clanton. The video shows the 11-year-old running across the parking lot.

“When I saw an 11-year-old girl getting attacked, I don’t know what to do,” Ellis told WKMG. “I grabbed her and hid behind a gas tank, yelling at people to call the police,” Elghali said.

Yet, during all the chaos, one man stood by, calmly sipped his drink, got in his vehicle, and drove away.

Both assailants drove away, but were easily identified and arrested. Napiontek’s charges include aggravated child abuse and battery, while Clanton is being charged with battery and assault on a law enforcement officer. Police say he resisted arrest.

WKMG reported that Clanton had just been jailed on a battery charge after another gas station attack, this time on a 17-year-old.
