Protesters ripped signs that supported Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and allegedly snatched a Make American Great Again hat from Texas college students on Tuesday.
Young Conservatives of Texas at the University of Texas (YCTUT) held a rally to support Kavanaugh. Some of the signs YCTUT members held included “Confirm Kavanaugh,” “Kavanaugh for Justice” and “Witch Hunt!” according to a picture the group provided to The Daily Caller News Foundation.

A video posted to Twitter shows one girl ripping signs that read “no campus kangaroo courts in Congress.” She then proceeds to shove YCTUT Chairman Saurabh Sharma.
“Are you trying to assault me? This is assault,” Sharma said to the girl in the video.
“Fuck you to every girl that has been sexually assaulted on this campus,” the girl said to Sharma.
Sharma told TheDCNF that YTCUT officer Joshua Lambert had his Make America Great Again hat snatched, but a person in the crowd later returned it. (RELATED: Texas Bar Fires Man Who Ran Off With Teen’s MAGA Hat And Threw Drink At Trump Supporters)
Lisa Dreher, a reporter with the school’s paper, The Texan Daily, told TheDCNF that she saw a red hat flying and counter-protesters cheering.

“UTPD said student in pink jacket attempted to rip off MAGA hat if another student,” Dreher tweeted. “Student talking to Dean of Students about her conduct @thedailytexan. [University of Texas at Austin Police Department] said she will not receive any criminal citations.”
A spokesperson for the college’s Office of the Dean of Students told TheDCNF that it was too soon to confirm whether the student was referred to the dean’s office for rule violation.
“UTPD did not take any police action, no arrests,” a police department spokesperson told TheDCNF.
Counter-protesters held signs that read “Fuck Kavanaugh” and “Fuck YCT.” They also chanted “We believe surviviors,” according to a Facebook video filmed by Anthony Dolcefino.
The protests come in light of Christine Blasey Ford, Deborah Ramirez and Julie Swetnick accusing Kavanaugh of sexual assault. Kavanaugh and Ford testified in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee on Sept. 27.
“Evidence matters, and while we are sympathetic to Ms. Ford’s experience, we also know that in order for justice to exist in this country, a culture of innocent until proven guilty is just as important as a legal process that holds that principle,” Sharma told TheDCNF.
“We wanted those in UT’s student body who have watched in horror as unsubstantiated allegation after unsubstantiated allegation has been breathlessly levied against Judge Kavanaugh by the mainstream media to feel like they have allies on this far-left campus,” he continued.
Young Conservatives of Texas is a youth organization that has nine chapters in the state that focuses on “advocating for conservative fiscal and social policies, campus activism, campaigning for political candidates, and rating the Texas legislature,” according to the organization’s website.
