Former Vice President Al Gore announced his support Tuesday for an odd “congressional candidate” — a penguin named Earth — just four weeks ahead of the hotly-contested midterm elections.

Gore captioned the video: “She’s a penguin of the people and she’s got my vote. Consider this my official endorsement of Congressional candidate Earth for America. Check out her platform at earthforamerica.com and make sure to vote on Nov 6! #StandWithEarth

Calling the penguin “smart” and “tenacious,” Gore claimed that she was “running to create a healthier world for us all.”

He championed Earth’s “platform for reducing carbon emissions,” her “expertise in clean energy” and her passion for the planet. (RELATED: Al Gore: ‘We’re Running Out Of Time’ On Global Warming)

One of the penguin’s campaign posters, which read simply “Inaction will not fly,” hung on the wall behind Gore as he spoke.

The ad concluded with a voiceover pretending to be the candidate herself, saying, “I’m Earth, and I approve this message.”
