The ratings are in for the annual American Music Awards (AMAs), and they’re not pretty.

The 46th AMAs, aired Tuesday night on ABC, suffered a serious decline in ratings compared to 2017, despite boasting an impressive array of performing artists in the lineup. (RELATED: The Ads During The Oscars Were Just As Political As The Actual Show)

The AMAs brought in a 1.8 rating (meaning 1.8 percent of the metered audience tuned in) during primetime viewing, down from 2017 when the show clocked in at a 2.4 rating.

It lost 28 percent of its viewers, bringing in about 6.55 million compared to 9.15 million in 2017. For some context, this week’s “Monday Night Football” on the same program brought in a 7.3 rating. (RELATED: Last Night’s ‘Roseanne’ Finale Dominated Every Other Show In Primetime)

Perhaps the most notable moment of the night was when Taylor Swift was given the “Artist Of The Year” award.

Swift made news on Monday after she broke her relative political silence by endorsing two Democratic Tennessee candidates — Senate candidate Phil Bredesen and Congressional candidate Jim Cooper. (RELATED: Taylor Swift Gets Political — Endorses Two Tennessee Candidates)

“Her voting record in Congress appalls and terrifies me,” Swift said of GOP congressional candidate Marsha Blackburn. “These are not MY Tennessee values.”
