ESPN pundit Kirk Herbstreit made it clear that he is a big fan of Wisconsin Badgers football coach Paul Chryst in a recent video.

Herbstreit explained, “I think he’s one of the best-kept secrets in college football. He’s kind of stuck to his guns about still being a coach that believes in physicality … I really respect him and think he’s one of the best coaches in the country.” (RELATED: The Wisconsin Badgers Have To Take The Next Step As An Athletic Program. Here’s Why)

Am I glad Paul Chryst is starting to finally get some national respect? On one hand, I am indeed. He’s certainly earned it. There’s no question about it.

However, we really don’t need Kirk Herbstreit or anybody else at ESPN raining down praise on us. Chryst got to where he is by flying under the radar, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. We’re humble people in Wisconsin. We enjoy just doing what we do, and winning without needing a pat on the back.

Let the haters and critics doubt us. It’s what they’re best at. We’ll keep doing what we’re best at, which is winning. Win, baby, win!
