Scarlett Johansson will make a stunning amount of money for an upcoming movie as Black Widow.

The Hollywood Reporter wrote the following Thursday:

Scarlett Johansson, who has appeared in six movies as Black Widow, is finally landing a $15 million payday for an upcoming standalone film centered on the Marvel superheroine, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

That salary equals what Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth earned for playing Captain America and Thor, respectively, in this year’s Avengers: Infinity War. Evans and Hemsworth also nabbed that same $15 million payday for Captain America: Civil War and Thor: Ragnarok, respectively, as well as the upcoming fourth Avengers film.

Ladies and gentlemen, that’s what I like to call getting paid, and not just kind of getting paid. That’s getting paid in a major way. (RELATED: Bradley Cooper’s New Movie Does Surprisingly Well. Here’s How Much Money It’s Making)

I know everybody wants to talk about wage gaps and all that nonsense. I really don’t have the time or patience to indulge that idea. The best people in their professions should be paid what they’re worth. That’s really as simple as it gets.

Johansson is a star, she is a recognizable face, people know her name, and she puts butts in the seats. That’s why she’s without a doubt worth the $15 million heading her way.

Now she’ll be in line for a serious cash grab if her standalone movie crushes the box office. That’s when the real money will start rolling in. We’ll have to wait and see, but I think you’d have to be a fool to bet against her.
