Nick Saban will “handle” defensive lineman Raekwon Davis after he repeatedly punched a Missouri player this weekend.

The legendary coach told the media Monday, “I visited with commissioner Sankey about Raekwon’s actions. We will handle that internally. We will have him do some things. I think it should affect his playing time in the future.”

You can watch a video of Davis below.

Handle it “internally”? Right. Seems par for the course.

Does Saban think we’re all idiots? He had a player caught on film repeatedly punching an opponent, and his response is that it will be handled within his own household. What an absurd standard.

The young man needs to be suspended. Screw talking about if it will “affect” his “playing time.” Just come out, sack up and suspend the guy. I’m not saying he has to sit out for multiple games, but handling it internally is laugh-out-loud funny. (RELATED: Nick Saban Unloads On Alabama Students. Here’s What He Had To Say [VIDEO])

It’s such a power move to let a player punch a guy and then hardly condemn it that I almost have to respect it.

SEC fans wonder why so many of us are skeptical of the conference. It’s because of stuff like this. No program that respects the rules would ever handle a situation like this.

Then again, no other program wins as much as Saban does at Alabama. Maybe there’s a little bit of a connection there.
