Khabib Nurmagomedov finally got some of his money from fighting in UFC 229.

His earnings were being held by the Nevada state gaming commission after the fiasco that occurred after he defeated Conor McGregor. The UFC star hopped out of the octagon and started swinging at people. (RELATED: Conor McGregors Return To The UFC Was An Absolute Circus. Check Out The Crazy Videos)

According to TMZ, Khabib has now received half of his $2 million purse. The other million dollars will still be kept from him until a December 10 hearing to decide his full punishment. It’s likely he’ll lose at least a chunk of the remaining million. (SLIDESHOW: These Are The Greatest Ronda Rousey Photos On The Internet)

Look, you can’t just jump out of the octagon and not expect to get punished. That’s not how the UFC or the Nevada state gaming commission works. There are consequences for your actions. In all seriousness, he should be hit with a massive fine. I wouldn’t even be against keeping the other half of his purse.

A message has to be sent. You can’t let a fighter put people in the situation Khabib did after beating McGregor. (SLIDESHOW: These UFC Women Really Hate Wearing Clothes)

I guess we’ll have to wait until December to find out the final result, but I’d expect the punishment to be hefty.
