Former Denver Broncos quarterback Chad Kelly’s options for continuing to play football may be extremely limited.

The former Ole Miss gunslinger was arrested on a charge of first-degree criminal trespassing last week and was quickly shown the door by John Elway.

Now, Mike Florio speculated his best option for continuing to play football could be in the new startup league the Alliance of American Football. (RELATED: NFL QB Arrested For Bizarre Reason. He Could Be In A Ton Of Trouble)

The AAF certainly would be a pay cut for a guy coming out of the NFL, but it’s better than nothing.

I don’t see a single NFL team taking a chance on Kelly. Why would they? His level of talent doesn’t offset his problems off the field. Generally speaking, that’s a great formula to find yourself out of the NFL.

Playing in the AAF could provide Kelly with the best opportunity to rehab his image. Right now, I don’t even think a CFL team would take a chance on him. The AAF might literally be the only option for him on the table.

Plus, he’d instantly have some of the biggest name recognition in the league, which is exactly what the people running it need.
