The Boston Red Sox are your 2018 World Series champions, which is great news for pretty much everyone.

Unless, of course, you’re a Dodgers or Yankees fan.

That’s right, while most Yankees fans probably thought they were off the hook after the Sox crushed them in the ALDS this year, Boston fans and players kept them on blast for the remainder of the postseason. Just last week, Red Sox fans, unfazed by their clearly inferior opponent, broke into a “Yankees Suck” chant in the middle of World Series game 1 against the Dodgers.

Then, with a 5-1 victory clearly in the bag, fans did it again during game 5 on Sunday night:

Then, following their World Series victory, Red Sox teammates took that tradition into the clubhouse and played Frank Sinatra’s “New York, New York.”

I don’t care how you slice this. This is not a good look for LA or for New York. The Red Sox somehow managed to clown all over both teams at the same time. With this kind of dexterity, it’s no wonder they’re world champions.

Do I think we should be giving the Yankees free exposure like this in their offseason? Absolutely not. But this makes for great content and stokes the fire of an already-great rivalry. I already can’t wait for next year.
