Clemson is now favored by ESPN’s playoff predictor to win the college football national title.

Dabo Swinney’s Tigers currently have a 93 percent chance of making the playoff and a 35 percent chance of winning the whole thing. Alabama is out of the top spot, but still has an 82 percent chance of making an appearance. Their title odds are right under Clemson’s at 34 percent. (RELATED: The Latest AP College Football Poll Is Here. Find Out Where Your Team Ranks)

How bad does it hurt, SEC fans? Tell me, how bad does it hurt to know ESPN no longer things the crown jewel of your conference is the most likely to hoist up the title trophy?

I know it hurts. Just be honest about it.

Look, I have no dog in the fight here. I don’t cheer for Alabama or Clemson. I just call balls and strikes, and I know SEC fans must be having a meltdown right now knowing the Tide are no longer in the top spot.

Yet, there’s a reason we play the game. Nothing is decided until the game is played and over.
