A “Breaking Bad” movie is reportedly in the works from the AMC series creator Vince Gilligan, though details about who else would be involved are moot.
Sources confirmed to the Hollywood Reporter Wednesday that filming will start this month in New Mexico for a two-hour movie set in the award-winning series franchise. (RELATED: Is Bryan Cranston Making A Cameo In ‘Better Call Saul’?!)

It is unclear whether the project, reportedly titled “Greenbrier,” would be for the small or big screen at this point, or if it might be another prequel like the spinoff show “Better Call Saul” that is in its fourth season.
“Breaking Bad” — a series that follows the story of high school chemistry teacher Walter White (played by Bryan Cranston) who is diagnosed with terminal cancer and starts making meth to leave his family financially stable after he’s gone — ran for five seasons on AMC and took home numerous awards during its run from 2008 to 2013.
There is no word yet if the original cast with people like Cranston, Aaron Paul, Anna Gunn and Bob Odenkirk will be involved in the upcoming film.

Gilligan will reportedly write the script, executive produce and possibly direct the film. Exec. producers of the series and the prequel show Mark Johnson and Melissa Bernstein are also reportedly on board for the movie that centers around a kidnapped man who escapes and his search for freedom.
As previously reported, the breakout series made headlines over the summer with news that there would be a crossover episode in the fourth season.
“You’re going to see some stuff that’s going to look very familiar in a delightful way.#BetterCallSaul #SDCC,” Peter Gould, writer of “Breaking Bad” and co-creator of “Better Call Saul” tweeted, following an announcement during a panel discussion at the 2018 Comic-Con event.
