Oklahoma State football coach Mike Gundy recently made it clear he has no time or patience for liberalism or athletes who aren’t mentally tough.
Gundy told the press the following Monday afternoon, according to NewsOK.com:
I think we live in a world where people are non-committal. We allow liberalism to say, ‘Hey, I can just do what I want and I don’t have to really be tough and fight through it.’ You see that with young people because it’s an option they’re given. We weren’t given that option when we were growing up. We were told what to do, we did it the right way, or you go figure it out on your own.
In the world today, there’s a lot of entitlement. I’m a firm believer in the snowflake. I think it’s setting there. And I’m not talking about Thabo. Thabo and I have had multiple good talks. I’m talking about every millennial young person. Generation Z, I think is what they call ’em. It’s the world we live in because if they say, ‘Well, it’s a little bit hard,’ we say, ‘OK, well, let’s go try something else.’ vs. ‘Hey, let’s bear down and let’s fight and do this.’ So you see a lot of that nowadays, and that doesn’t have anything to do with Thabo or (Jalen) McCleskey or anybody that’s been on the portal here.

Oh man, this is absolutely amazing on every single level. As I’ve said many times before, Gundy’s rants are legendary to those of us who eat, breathe and live college football. He produces content in a way that I honestly can’t even begin to put into words.
Who could ever forget his amazing “I’m a man” rant? Nobody is the answer.
Now, he’s out here ripping liberalism and Generation Z. I feel like most schools wouldn’t be too pleased if their coach was out going off about politics and how weak the current generation of athletes is. I say that as somebody who used to work in college sports. Universities really don’t want to get involved in stuff like that. (RELATED: The Latest College Football AP Poll Is Here. You think Gundy cares? Hell no. He’s got a message to spread and I’ll be damned if anybody shuts him up.
This could also be an amazing recruiting tool. You know there are a ton of hardo dads out there who want there sons playing for a guy who is blaming liberals for transfers and all the other problems plaguing college sports.
Kid doesn’t want to run sprints? Liberals. Kid doesn’t want to get up some extra shots? That damn liberal mindset just doesn’t win championships. That’s the truth. Focus a little less on making yourself feel good and a little more time about getting in the weight room.
I love Gundy. We just need to make him and Mike Leach the faces of college football, and everything will be okay.
