Don’t expect to see Colin Kaepernick playing for the Washington Redskins anytime soon.
According to Adam Schefter, the Redskins have decided to bring some quarterbacks to try out for the backup role after Alex Smith went down Sunday with a knee injury. EJ Manuel, TJ Yates and Mark Sanchez are all listed. Colin Kaepernick isn’t.
Redskins are bringing in a group of QBs to work out on Monday, including EJ Manuel, TJ Yates and Mark Sanchez, per sources. Washington needs a new backup for starting QB Colt McCoy.

#Redskins just wrapped up workouts with five free agent QBs: Mark Sanchez, Kellen Clemens, TJ Yates, EJ Manuel and Josh Johnson.

Naturally, that didn’t sit too well with all the experts on Twitter.
If the Redskins don’t go after Colin Kaepernick you can never question again whether the owners have colluded against him. IMO. 3 days to find a backup for Dallas #redskins

I’m sure this won’t evoke strong feelings from people one way or another, but…
…the absolute best thing the #Redskins could do, both on-the-field and off-the-field, is sign Colin Kaepernick as Colt McCoy’s backup.

I love this. It’s music to my ears. Look, Kaepernick — who replaced Smith with the 49ers — isn’t getting back into the NFL. It’s just not going to happen.
He’s been out of football at this point for multiple seasons, he is a massive distraction and there’s not a team on this planet likely to sign him. What general manager is going to be the outcome of his career on Colin Kaepernick?

Yet every time a starting QB goes down, we have to hear speculation about whether or not he’s getting another shot. Give me a break. The man is a scrub whose best football was played several years ago. Wake up, people. (RELATED: Here Are The Best Moments From Week 11 Of The NFL Season)
Besides, isn’t he a bit busy making Nike ads these days? Who knew kneeling for the anthem would be so lucrative.

It’s not going to happen. I suggest people stop holding their breath. He’s out of football, and that’s not going to change simply because another starting QB went down.
