Nine Inch Nails (NIN) frontman Trent Reznor claimed at a Texas concert Tuesday night that he told Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz to “fuck off” when he asked to be added to the guest list.

His grievance with the lawmaker, he said, is due to a previous experience where Cruz bogarted all the beer backstage.

Video from the Dallas NIN concert shows Reznor asking the crowd who voted for Cruz and requesting for the lights to be raised so he could get a better headcount. “See, the lights aren’t on, I can’t see. Is there any way to turn the lights on? I’d like to see.”

“Raise your hand, you guys, nothing to be ashamed of, just checking,” Reznor continued.

“He might be here tonight. He was bugging to get on the guest list, and I told him to fuck off,” Reznor told the crowd, explaining that the last time he let Cruz on the guest list, Cruz “drank all the beer” and was a “pain in the ass to be around.”

Reznor has never been shy about his political views, often speaking out about President Donald Trump and other figures in recent years. Last year, he called Trump a “complete fucking moron” and a “vulgar, grotesque dope” in an interview with The Village Voice.

During a 2016 interview with The Daily Beast, Reznor shared his felt obligation to “enlighten” as many people as he could about the dangers of a Trump presidency and described his candidacy as “absurd.”
