President Donald Trump praised conservative operative Roger Stone for refusing to cooperate with special counsel Robert Mueller in a Monday morning tweet.
“I will never testify against Trump.” This statement was recently made by Roger Stone, essentially stating that he will not be forced by a rogue and out of control prosecutor to make up lies and stories about “President Trump.” Nice to know that some people still have “guts!”

Stone has repeatedly declared that he will not “flip” or testify against Trump in any capacity and believes he is being unfairly targeted by Mueller.
“There’s no circumstance under which I would testify against the President because I’d have to bear false witness against him … I’d have to make things up, and I’m not going to do that,” he said Sunday on ABCNews. Trump continued in a broadside against Mueller’s team saying:
Bob Mueller (who is a much different man than people think) and his out of control band of Angry Democrats, don’t want the truth, they only want lies. The truth is very bad for their mission!

Trump’s tweet quickly drew speculation that he may be interfering with potential witnesses or tampering with evidence.
White House counselor Kellyanne Conway’s husband George, once a candidate for Trump’s solicitor general, referenced a specific part of the U.S. code, which reads, “Whoever … corruptly or by threats or force, or by any threatening letter or communication, influences, obstructs, or impedes, or endeavors to influence, obstruct, or impede, the due administration of justice, shall be [guilty of an offense].”

Former acting solicitor general Neal Katyal concurred with Conway, noting, “This is genuinely looking like witness tampering. DOJ (at least with a nonfake [sic] AG) prosecutes cases like these all the time. The fact it’s done out in the open is no defense. Trump is genuinely melting down, and no good lawyer can represent him under these circs.”
Stone brushed off such criticism in a statement to The Daily Caller, saying, “Those who said the presidents warm and complementary tweet constitutes witness tampering should be reminded that I have never been contacted by any investigative body And therefore by definition this cannot be true.”
