New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady officially holds the NFL record for most touchdown passes.

The five time Super Bowl champion threw three touchdowns in a losing effort against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. He entered the game tied for first place with Peyton Manning at 579 TD passes, and now is in the top spot alone with 582.

The Patriots might have lost on one of the wildest plays in NFL history when the Dolphins successfully ran a hook and ladder for a score, but it was still a hell of a day for Brady.

The man has enjoyed a historic career, and has taken serious pay cuts along the way to ensure the Patriots could load up on talent. (RELATED: Here Are The Best Moments From NFL Week 13)

That’s a level of selflessness that you don’t often see in sports these days. He’s wildly considered the greatest quarterback in the league, has more Super Bowls than anybody else and is tied with Green Bay Packers legend Bart Starr for most total championships in professional football history.

It might not have been a winning effort Sunday, but it was still an incredible mark for Brady on a career that has already been outstanding.
