With government funding set to run out next Thursday and a new Democratic majority ready to take over the House, this is a contentious time for President Donald Trump and his administration.

Trump will retain the services of current chief of staff Gen. John Kelly until the end of the year, but after that he will have to turn to somebody else to oversee day-to-day operations in the White House. (RELATED: Here’s Who’s In The Mix To Replace John Kelly)

The next chief of staff will be Trump’s busiest one yet. Whoever takes over the position next will have to deal with a Democrat-led House of Representatives that is likely to fire subpoena after subpoena in the president’s direction. They will also be sure to do everything they can to obstruct his legislative agenda.

It’s a tough job, which is why we’ve assembled a list of people who might be able to handle it.
