“Aquaman” is expected to make more than $100 million over the Christmas box office weekend.

The Hollywood Reporter reported the following Tuesday:

‘Aquaman’ is expected to top the long Christmas weekend with $110 million or more after already earning nearly $300 million overseas.

Aquaman, directed by James Wan and starring Jason Momoa in the titular role, is expected to be a Christmas superhero with a Friday-Tuesday gross north of $100 million. The Warner Bros. and DC superhero pic has already earned north of $270 million overseas, where it began opening two weekends ago.

This movie just continues to put up disgusting numbers. I don’t care what the critics or the reviews say. The studio and the people who put up the money for this have to be so happy. It’s seemingly been in the news now for a month, specifically about how it’s just making it rain with cash.

I understand that not everybody is into superhero movies. I totally get it, and I would even agree the market has become incredibly saturated with them. (RELATED: This Latest Superhero Movie Is Expected To Make A Sickening Amount Of Money)

However, they’re not going to stop making them as long as films like “Aquaman” continue to pull down huge numbers. Hollywood isn’t going to leave a single dollar untapped on the table.

My guess is that we’re bound to get at least one sequel. Hell, given the success of this film, we could get two more movies green lit without much of a problem at all.

You can catch “Aquaman” in theaters Dec. 21. Something tells me plenty of Americans will be breaking up their wallets to see it.
