On today’s podcast we cover a lot of ground. Bestselling author Ann Coulter talks about the apparent walk-back of President Donald Trump’s demand for $5 billion to build the border wall or he’ll allow the government to shut down, and she’s not happy. Without a wall, Coulter said she would not vote for Trump in 2020 and “it’ll just have been a joke presidency who scammed the American people, amused the populist for a while, but he’ll have no legacy whatsoever.” We also cover the Flynn sentencing hearing that wasn’t, the bipartisan prison reform bill that passed the Senate last night, and Facebook, which is under fire again for doing what we all knew they were doing.

Listen to the show:

In a fiery interview at the end of the show with Ann Coulter (which starts at 46:00), we get into the seeming walk-back by the White House of Trump’s “line in the sand” last week when he told Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer that he’d be willing to shut down the government if he didn’t get $5 billion to start building the border wall. Now the White House appears to have taken a shutdown off the table, instead seeking to work with Congress to move money already allocated for other things to the construction of the wall. Coulter, one of Trump’s biggest supporters in 2016, has almost lost her faith that a wall will ever be build. To say she’s mad at the president is an understatement. There’s 15 minutes of fury at the end of the show.

“They’re about to have a country where no Republican will ever be elected president again,” Coulter said. “Trump will just have been a joke presidency who scammed the American people, amused the populists for a while, but he’ll have no legacy whatsoever.”

When asked if she would vote for Trump in 2020 if there is no wall, the author of the book “In Trump We Trust” said, “No. Nor will, I think, most of his supporters. Why would you? To make sure, I don’t know, Ivanka and Jared can make money? That seems to be the main point of the presidency at this point.”

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg with Ann.

Earlier in the show we talk about Gen. Michael Flynn, who was supposed to learn his fate Tuesday at his sentencing hearing, but saw it postponed yet again. The judge in the case seemed all over the place, implying Flynn might be guilty of treason and mocking prosecutors for some of their arguments. What is going on here? We get into it.

The Senate passed “prison reform” legislation last night in a fit of bipartisanship, but is it a good bill? Who will it release from prison, and are the people we’ve been told it will help, the “non-violent drug offenders,” really all that non-violent? Or are they people that cut a plea deal to have more serious charges dropped and to avoid a long jail term? We discuss the problems with the bill and the concept of it.

Social media lit up last night on the news that Facebook allowed other companies access to more of its users’ private data, including messages. Who is surprised by this? On Facebook, YOU are the product. If you don’t give them personal information, they can’t sell it. Would you be willing to pay to use the site in exchange for them not sharing information about you? It’s a tradeoff, no doubt, but you can’t really act surprised that they’re doing exactly what everyone knows they’re doing.
