Kansas might want to rethink its football recruiting hype strategy after a video was released Wednesday on national signing day.

The Jayhawks new coach Les Miles tweeted out a video of incoming tight end Mason Fairchild, and it’s simply painful to watch.

I don’t know what vibe Kansas and Fairchild were shooting for in this video. Were they trying to be hip, trying to vibe with the young guys? I honestly don’t have a clue, but I do know that it’s absolutely awful.

Seriously, what the hell was that? What is Les Miles doing down in Lawrence? I thought Miles was supposed to bring structure to the Jayhawks pathetic program? (RELATED: The College Football Playoff Teams Have Been Announced. Some Fans Will Be Enraged)

Instead, it looks like he’s got recruits making weird videos. There’s a reason you don’t see Alabama and Ohio State pulling stunts like this. It’s because they respect themselves and expect to win.

Apparently, Kansas is trying to put on a circus act.

Finally, this Fairchild character looks skinny enough to get snapped in half if he took the field against a top-10 program.

Does anybody really believe that kid could matchup with the players at Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State or Oklahoma? I didn’t think so.

I sure did have a lot of optimism for Les Miles at Kansas. I most certainly don’t anymore after seeing that video.
