Is Nick Saban Going To Leave Alabama For This NFL Team? It Could Be Possible

Colin Cowherd recently floated the idea that Nick Saban might leave Alabama for an NFL payday with the Cleveland Browns.

“The one that is so obvious to me, a million reasons and I buy into it, is the Cleveland Browns and Baker Mayfield,” Cowherd said during his Wednesday broadcast of “The Herd” when discussing NFL options for the legendary college coach.

Look, I have no idea if Saban even wants to leave Alabama. I don’t know why he would. He’s the most dominant coach in all of college football right now. What could possibly entice him enough to step away?

Well, for one thing, ego could play a large part in it. Saban wasn’t a hit during his time in the NFL with the Miami Dolphins, and that’s talked about a lot. The money ultimately doesn’t mean much because the Crimson Tide can pay him just as well as any NFL program. So, let’s go ahead and take that off of the board right now.

That leaves us with pretty much Saban only doing it to further cement his legacy. He’s won multiple college championships. The last item in the world of football he has yet to conquer is a Super Bowl.

Now, the Browns would also likely just hand him the keys to the kingdom. They would let him be an absolute dictator because he’s the biggest name by far that they could ever get right now.

Add in the fact they have a young and talented quarterback in Baker Mayfield, and I think this idea isn’t terrible.

Is it likely to happen? Probably not, but it’s certainly above a zero percent chance. Could you honestly imagine the media circus that would follow if Saban took over the Browns?

It’d be incredible. I don’t know if Saban to the Browns will happen or is even likely, but I sure am fascinated by the possibility.
