A new report indicates that neither Bryce Harper nor Manny Machado are particularly interested in playing for the Philadelphia Phillies.

This report comes just days after free agent and former LA Dodgers star Manny Machado reportedly met with the team for hours, and indicated that he got along well with the rest of the players. But this new report, which comes from The New York Post’s Joe Sherman, claims “neither player particularly likes Philadelphia and both would have preferred the Yankees, who have shown little interest in Harper.”

Harper has been relatively mum on where he’d like to go. He’s dropped subtle hints about potentially wanting to go to Chicago, and rumors that he’ll sign with the White Sox just don’t seem to go away.

We’re likely going to have to wait until January to find out where either of these guys want to go, but each is estimated to fetch up to $400 million, depending on the contract they sign. And with a desperate Phillies franchise and the entire city’s pride on the line, this offseason could shape up to be the nail-biter of the century.
