“Aquaman” continued to dominate the box office over the weekend, and is putting up disgusting numbers.

The Hollywood Reporter reported the following Monday on the superhero film’s crazy box office success:

James Wan’s Aquaman more than conquered the Christmas box office swim meet.

The superhero tentpole finished Sunday with a shimmery global total of $748.8 million, guaranteeing that Aquaman will fly past $900 million by the end of its run and become the biggest Warner Bros./DC title since Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises earned $1.09 billion in 2012, not adjusted for inflation.

The numbers this movie has put up have been simply insane. There’s no other way to describe it at all. Closing in on $900 million! That’s a mind-boggling amount of money. (RELATED: This Latest Superhero Movie Is Expected To Make A Sickening Amount Of Money)

Yet, I still haven’t seen it and I really need to because I’ve heard things all over the board. The only way to find out the truth is to just see it for myself.

The good news is that it’ll probably be in theaters for a very long time at this rate. The studio and theaters aren’t going to pull a movie that is nearing a billion dollars at the box office. That would be an incredibly stupid decision.

I can’t wait to see how long it takes for a sequel to get green lit. It shouldn’t take very long. As I’ve been saying for awhile, film studios love cash and they’re not going to miss out on the prospect of a surefire hit sequel.
