The Denver Broncos fired head coach Vance Joseph early Monday morning.

Ian Rapoport announced the news on Twitter, and it’s a bit mind-boggling to me.

In what fantasy world being run by John Elway was Joseph the issue in Denver? Yes, the Broncos haven’t had the best of seasons under him the past two years, but it’s not like he’s been given a lot of talent to work with. (RELATED: Here Are The Best Moments From Week 15 Of The NFL Season)

Last season, the Broncos were playing Trevor Siemian under center for most of the year, and this season they had Case Keenum. Keenum is certainly an upgrade, but he’s far from a franchise quarterback.

Plus, their former first round QB pick Paxton Lynch turned out to be garbage in the NFL. How the hell is that Joseph’s fault?

It’s pretty hard to win in the NFL to begin with, and it’s borderline an impossible task when a coach is given Trevor Siemian as the guy leading the way. Give me a break.

The Broncos aren’t going to win no matter who they employ as the head coach as long as the quarterback play remains poor. That’s simply how the NFL works. Show me a single elite team that doesn’t have solid QB play. They don’t exist.

Elway needs to find their guy of the future in the draft or sign a big time gunslinger. There’s no other option if they want success in Colorado.
